Part 2 of 3: How did I arrive here? coaching full-time!

Updated: Dec 16, 2021

Let’s go back to that wrestling with the decision to quit.

In my life, I’ve been tested a lot by the Lord, but hard work and many blessings of income have always been there. How we managed it, that’s for another blog... but for this story, just know that we have always had work and the money that follows the work. Working wasn't foreign to us, but quitting and retiring was new.

After sleepless nights, long prayer sessions, and much discussion with my bride, it was clear the answer to what to-do next would come after I took the step of faith.

This step of faith was not easy to think about, but all our financial pain and growth have led us to this crazy step of faith to quit/retire from corporate America. I had just shy of 29 years in corporate America, but retiring at the age of 48 was cool to think about.

So, with all my faith in our Heavenly Father, I put in my retirement notice.

It wasn’t as glamorous as I envisioned, and with a pandemic, I didn’t get to say good-bye face-to-face with all my close friends. However, when you say goodbye in a global company and when the people you manage are spread across the globe, virtual goodbyes are all you can do.

It was bittersweet, but my time in corporate America was done in July 2021.

So, what’s next? Read part 3 now.
